Day 15 | David's Prayer of Repentance
CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART, O GOD, AND RENEW A RIGHT SPIRIT WITHIN ME. CAST ME NOT AWAY FROM YOUR PRESENCE, AND TAKE NOT YOUR HOLY SPIRIT FROM ME. RESTORE TO ME THE JOY OF YOUR SALVATION, AND UPHOLD ME WITH A WILLING SPIRIT. PSALM 51:10-12
Have mercy upon me, O God. Please show me Your love and kindness.
I beg for Your forgiveness to erase the debt I owe for every time I knowingly transgressed Your commandments, and for every time I chose to not obey your sacred law. Wipe the slate clean so I can start anew.
My soul is filled with the dirt of this world. Cleanse me with the grace of your Word. Wash away the filth in my mind that is clouded with evil thoughts and plans.
Jesus, you were wounded because of my transgressions and bruised by my iniquities. Forgive me O Lord for these unrighteous thoughts and actions against you. Clear out the images and history that I have stored in my heart and mind over the years.
Cleanse me from all my sinful disobedience; cure my sin sick soul. I need a spiritual heart transplant that will beat your life blood throughout my body and renew my spirit.
Do not give up on me or leave me alone. Blessed Holy Spirit I cannot live without you filling my life and guiding my every step. Return the joy of your anointing to my life. Restore Your salvation to my life. Hold me close and never let me go. Amen.
