Child Dedication
What is Child Dedication?
Child dedication is a special opportunity for parents to make a commitment to raise their child in a Christ-centered home. This ceremony will give parents the opportunity to celebrate with family and friends the gift they received from God as they make a declaration to follow Christ and obey His Word.
“I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there. 1 Samuel 1:27–28
What to expect?
During the scheduled worship service, parents will have an opportunity, along with other families, to stand before the church and make a public commitment to raise their child in the fear of the Lord.
Following the dedication service, you will be provided with an opportunity to take a professional family photograph to commemorate the special day.

Yes, parents who are members of Embassy City Church have indicated that they agree and align with the Christian faith. During the ceremony, the parent will commit to raise their child according Scripture and, we as the church, will pledge to link arms with the parent to help them raise their child in the fear of the Lord. We can only fulfill our commitment if a family is a member of our local church body.

No, baptism is only seen in the Bible when someone receives Christ and confess Him as Savior and Lord. Child dedication is when parents make a public commitment to raise their child according to Scripture, in hopes that that one day their child will make a personal decision to put their faith in Jesus and choose to publicly display their decision of salvation through baptism.
