I ACKNOWLEDGED MY SIN TO YOU, AND I DID NOT COVER MY INIQUITY; I SAID, “I WILL CONFESS MY TRANSGRESSIONS TO THE LORD,” AND YOU FORGAVE THE INIQUITY OF MY SIN. SELAH PSALM 32:5

“I acknowledge my sin…I confess my transgressions to the Lord…” My heart longs to be closer to you my beloved Heavenly Father, but my disobedience has dug a chasm between us. Please accept this prodigal’s plea to be welcomed back into your embrace. O my God, incline your ear and hear my request for your forgiveness, not because of my righteousness, but because of your mercy.

Break my callous heart that has entertained evil imaginations that have no limit. I am like a sheep who has gone astray to follow my own way. I was captivated by my own vanity and envy of others. Bitterness consumed me when I was hurt and abused. Purge my lips from gossip and lies. I confess that I have cheated and stolen to get ahead. I even robbed you by withholding a tithe of all that you have blessed me with.

I need your forgiveness for the things I didn’t do that I should have and the things I did that I shouldn’t have. Forgive me for the moments I was ungrateful, lacking love for others in need. Forgive me for the time I neglected to read your Word, neglected to pray, and did not fellowship with others. Forgive me for the moments of unbelief and lack of compassion for lost souls.

O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. O Lord, pay attention and act. Father, please don’t delay. I confess iniquities of my thoughts and transgressions of my actions. I ask that you wash away my guilt and cleanse me with your shed blood. Amen
