Day 16 | Solomons Prayer of Dedication of the Temple
AND SAID, “O LORD, GOD OF ISRAEL, THERE IS NO GOD LIKE YOU, IN HEAVEN OR ON EARTH, KEEPING COVENANT AND SHOWING STEADFAST LOVE TO YOUR SERVANTS WHO WALK BEFORE YOU WITH ALL THEIR HEART, WHO HAVE KEPT WITH YOUR SERVANT DAVID MY FATHER WHAT YOU DECLARED TO HIM. YOU SPOKE WITH YOUR MOUTH, AND WITH YOUR HAND HAVE FULFILLED IT THIS DAY. 2 CHRONICLES 6:14-15
Lord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven or on earth like you. You have kept your promises to me and shown me mercy as I wholeheartedly walked in your ways. You have kept your covenant with King David and fulfilled it by your divine hand through his son Solomon to build a temple as a place for the presence of the Lord to dwell.
May your glory fill this place. Ignite your fire on the living sacrifice of my life. I cry out to you and say, “holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty!” You are the Maker of Heaven and Earth who receives my offering of thanksgiving and praise. You alone are the Creator of all life and sustainer of all things. All that I am and ever hope to be is by your divine touch.
I stand before You and lift my hands to the heavens to proclaim my adoration for the loving mercies you renew every day. I bow down in reverence and allegiance to You as my King and sovereign ruler. I kneel at your Lordship over my life and acknowledge that where I stand is holy ground.
O Lord my God, listen to my cry that Your ears may be open toward this temple of my heart day and night. Amen.
